Waffles Topped With Ice Cream

Ingredients

2 cups plus 2 tbsp. plain flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 pinch of salt
2 cups milk
3 eggs, separated
3 tbsp. butter, margarine or oil
1 tbsp. sugar

Light and fluffy waffles, perfect as a tasty treat on a cold winter's night.

Directions

Sift together the dry ingredients.
Place the milk, sugar and butter into a saucepan. Heat till the butter is melted.
Add 3 egg yolks, and the milk / butter mix to the flour. Mix well.
Beat the egg whites until stiff, and fold the egg white into the dough.
Bake in a hot, greased waffle pan or waffle iron. Serve immediately with ice cream, cream or syrup, and canned fruit.

Additional Notes

Use whipped cream instead of ice cream. Decorate with fresh fruit.
