Stuffed New York Strip Steak
Ingredients
4 thick sliced New Strip Steaks or Minute Steak Patties
1 box instant stuffing mix with seasoning
1 11 oz can quality corn
1 carrot and celery stick finely chopped
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
1 egg
1/2 cup hot tap water for stuffing mix
1/4 cup steak sauce
1 1/2 cups water for baking
This recipe is a complete meal or can be easily enhanced with a side dish.
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, add all ingredients except the meat and mix well
In a 9x13 baking pan, place the steaks and cut in half just enough to create a pocket
Trim as much fat as you can before creating the pocket
Add a little cooking oil and 1 1/2 cups of water after stuffing the meat
Brush the top of the meat with steak sauce
Add Salt and pepper
Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 90 minutes
Check while baking to see if more water is needed to keep the meat moist
Additional Notes
The stuffing may be a little dry when filling the meat pockets, but it will become moister when baking.
