Delicious Russian Sauerkraut Pastries
This pastries have Russian origin, but this version is easier to make and a little healthier than the original.
Directions
In a large bowl mix flour, water, milk, 2 tbsp oil, vinegar, 1 tsp salt and egg. The result will be soft dough.
Cover and let rise for one hour.
In the meantime prepare the filling: In a shallow baking dish arrange a layer of sauerkraut.
Sprinkle with 12 tbsp oil and baked 40 min to 350 F, stirring occasionally.
Let the filling cool.
Unroll a thin sheet of dough, and cut in circles, using an upside down coffee cup.
Fold up the dough to make sealed packages.
Preheat oven to 350 F. Bake about 35 minutes.
Additional Notes
You can use pre-made dough and save time.
