Tasty Sweet Cardamon Rice
This is a basmati rice recipe with a Middle Eastern touch. It is slightly sweet and makes a great side dish.
Directions
Put the basmati rice in a sieve and rinse it under the tap.
Add the oil in the sauce pan.
When the oil is hot, put the cardamon seeds, the turmeric, the cloves, the basil leave and the cinnamon in the pan.
Also add the salt and the pepper.
Mix it all together and add the rice, mix it once again.
Put the 2 and 1/2 of water and stir it.
Cover the sauce pan and when it boils, turn the heat down.
Cook for 10 minutes.
Stir it and leave it to rest for 3 minutes before serving.
Additional Notes
You can also cook some onion before adding the ingredients. Also, if you have more than 3-4 people, just add another cup of rice and for each cup of rice add a cup and 1/4 of water.
