Potato and Bacon Baked Casserole

Ingredients

6-8 potatoes
1 large onion
8 oz bacon
1 cup cream
1 packet onion soup powder
1 stick butter
coarse black pepper
oil

Try this delicious hot potato dish. It goes great with any meal at the dinner table or at a barbecue.

Directions

Pre-boil the potatoes for 15 - 20 minutes. Allow to cool, peel.
Preheat oven to 380 F
Dice the bacon. Slice the onion. Fry in a little oil, and drain.
Slice the potatoes, and layer in an ovenproof dish, alternating layers of potato with bacon and onion.
Sprinkle each layer with the onion soup powder and a dash of pepper.
Cut the stick of butter into small pieces, and place on top.
Pour over the cream.
Bake for 30 minutes in oven.

Additional Notes

This potato dish is delicious with roasted or grilled meats (e.g. chicken, beef, mutton or pork chops). It also makes a wonderful accompaniment to a barbecue.
