Easy Onion Pie
Ingredients
4 medium yellow onions, sliced thin
2 tablespoons flour
1 pie crust (frozen or homemade)
1 3/4 cups light cream
4 eggs
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
salt & pepper to taste
A great alternative to a gratin as the perfect accompaniment for a steak, and one that comes together with almost no effort at all.
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400F.
Place the onions and flour in a bag and shake to coat evenly.
Line a pie tin with a crust and fill with the onions.
Whisk together the cream, eggs, parsley, salt and pepper. Pour over onions.
Bake for 10 minutes at 400F. Reduce heat to 325F and bake an additional 30 minutes.
Cool 5 minutes, slice and serve immediately.
