Fried Liver Slivers
Finely sliced liver strips, fried and served in a sweet chili sauce.
Directions
Cut the liver into strips of 1/4 inch wide or thinner.
Mix together the flour and herbs, salt and pepper. Toss the liver strips in the flour and set aside.
Fry the bacon rashers in a bit of oil till crisp. Cool and crumble.
Fry the sliced onion and sweet pepper till lightly browned. Remove from the pan.
Fry the liver strips a few at a time, for no longer than 3 minutes each side. Do not over-cook.
Sprinkle with lemon juice. Combine the liver strips, the onion and pepper and the sweet chilli relish. Sprinkle the crumbled bacon on top.
Serve with mashed potatoes, gravy and a salad.
Additional Notes
I often leave out the bacon, if I do not have any handy. Although it is delicious with the bacon, it is just as tempting without.
