French Apple Caramel Cake
This is one of the easiest cakes to make. It has a French origin. It will become your new favorite recipe!
Directions
Heat 10 tbsp sugar in 10 inches cake pan over low heat, stirring constantly until color is brown caramel.
Quickly swirl the cake pan to coat bottom and sides with caramel. Let cool for 10 minutes.
Arrange apples on the bottom and bake for 20 minutes to 350 F.
Combine 6 eggs with 6 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp flour, vanilla and milk.
Pour on top of apples and bake for about 30 minutes.
Beat 4 egg whites in a bowl at room temperature with an electric mixer at high speed till foamy.
Add in order 4 tbsp sugar, egg yolks, 3 tbsp oil and 4 tbsp flour.
Pour on top of crème caramel and bake until golden, about 15-20 minutes.
Let cool completely, invert the pan and cover with whipped cream.
Refrigerate for minimum one hour.
