Granny's Yogurt Cake
Not that kind of granny who spends hours in the kitchen, though. This cake is the quickest she taught me to make... and it's always a success!
Directions
Shell the eggs and separate the yolks from the whites
In a large bowl, mix the yolks with the sugar until they form a creamy mixture
Add the yogurt, 1/2 stick melted butter and the oil and mix well
Mix the yeast with the flour and add them to the other ingredients
Mix well until it blended thoroughly
Add very few salt to the egg whites and whisk them until stiff
Add the stiff egg whites to the other ingredients
Mix slowly from bottom to top, incorporating the white eggs and making the cream homogeneous
Take a cake pan, cover its surftace with 2 tbsp of butter then spread some flour all over the butter
Pour the batter into the cake pan
Bake for 45 minutes at 350°F
Whisk the cream until stiff
Add the cream to the jam and stir well
After the cake has cooked and cooled down, cut it halfway between top and bottom
Spread the cream and jam all over the bottom part and cover with the top part
