German Apple Strudel with Craisins and Pecans

Apple Strudel
 

Ingredients

2 lbs apples -- peeled, cored and shredded
1/4 cup craisins or raisins
1/4 cup bread crumbs
2 tbsp pecans, chopped
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
6 tbsp sugar
1 package phyllo dough
1/4 cup melted butter or oil

Apple, raisins and cinnamon flavor is a great mix and a tasty comfort food. For best results use premade phyllo pastry and homemade apple filling.

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 F.
Combine apples, craisins, bread crumbs, cinnamon and sugar. Stir well.
Spread 8 sheets of phyllo pastry with melted butter and stack them on top of each other.
Arrange apple filling down the middle of the pastry lengthwise, then roll the sheets up to form a log shape.
Bake in preheated oven 35 minutes, until pastry is golden.
